BLUE tear drops*

   although mofos bar and grille is proudly founded out of the blues genre and is a continuous advocate of it , from time to time we embrace unique sounds to those who appreciate the art of music.

this is one of those times. hooorah!  USA.

   on this edition of out of the blue, we'd like to put some shine on the one and only Hot 8 Brass Band from the Big Easy*. new orleans*. member. click play and turn it up loud so your ear drum hears the tuba playing. not too loud though, or the fucking trumpets will blow them out. 

   remind anyone of jr high? high-school? who would of thought that a blend of hip hop, jazz and funk would sound this good huh? i'm sorry but if these instruments don't make your head bob and body sway, you might wanna reassess how you first became a music enthusiast. there is so much to take from these guys' music. 

   for those unfamiliar with marvin gaye, sexual healing won two grammys in 83 and has been one of those joints played everywhere. chances are youve heard it in commercials, movies, porno or radio. the brass band's rendition is way different but it does it every bit of justice with their loud, vibrant color. 

   first heard this band on HBO's TREME. shame main stream america hasnt embraced it. doesnt that sound familiar. BLUES!

 DIRECTIONS: play the bass loud. enjoy early in the binge. prepare urself a nawlins hurricane. double on that rum. no rum? three nice ales will get it done. ;)
